Pattern

A blackened copper bowl with a yellow, pink pattern made by means of etching and enamelling around the rim, placed on a white surface.

Inspired by the mottled granite surface of a predynastic Egyptian jar, Karen developed this unique design. The pattern became a springboard for a series of works in different formats.

Karen often employs enamel to incorporate colour and pattern into her metalwork pieces.
